Pirates Surging = I Need To Go on Vacation More Often
Last year, I traveled with my Aunt and sister on my Aunt’s study abroad trip and visited sights around Europe. When I came back, the Pirates had not only surpassed .500 but had taken over first place in the NL Central. This time, I head out to see the hometown of Roberto Clemente (and a few others) and come back to find the Pirates 7 games over .500 and holding tight in the playoff race. I’ll travel more often.
I can’t really comment too much on what has happened but basically the bats have woken up and they need to stay this way. The dominating pitching is over to an extent has teams now have rather extensive reports on the Bucs and don’t disrespect the team. The Pirates have a tough week before the All Star Game coming home for a four game set against the Astros (remember what happened last time in PNC?) and the white hot Giants and their top rated pitching staff.
The trade rumors have quieted for a moment but I think the dent in Andrew McCutchen should wake everyone up. We were lucky it wasn’t serious but the way Cutch plays, he won’t be invincible. If this injury doesn’t heal 100%, then there is a high likelihood he will reaggravate it later in the year. Hence, another stable bat in the lineup is needed, preferably at first or in the outfield.
More posts coming this week as I get caught up! Let’s Go Bucs!
